I've visited about 3/4 of the states, and I've lived in 4 states (some more than once). Plus I've lived in two other countries besides the USA.
My family lived in 8 different homes during my growing up years. After I left home I lived in 8 more homes. That is 16 different spots to call 'Home'.
When Gregg and I moved to Virginia we never assumed we'd stay here. I love new places and love the adventure of moving (yes.. really I do)...But somehow, we never left. I've been here about 30 years and Virginia is now my home.

So many people we meet on travel tell us they LOVE Virginia. It's so GREEN they say... and really it is. We have all the seasons and MOST years it's not too cold or snowy in the winter. But the summers can be wicked humid.
And I do believe we have the most amazing number of days of sunshine (except this year.. but hey.. whose counting... cough... cough...)

I am in Northern Virginia just outside Washington DC. It is very busy here and I have a LOT of neighbors.. over 1 million in MY county alone.. the same in the counties near me.
But being very Urban doesn't stop us from enjoying all the good things in life, like being city farmers.. ha!! We have a real farm with baby animals and a active 4-H just 10 minutes from my home. And my neighbor has chickens (yep!). Plus we see fox and deer trotting through my yard.

My favorite slogan of ANY state is the Virginia Tourism Slogan "Virginia is for Lovers". I went on Ebay and bought some vintage bumper stickers.. it was SUCH fun to find them!
There are loads of things 'Made in Virginia'.. but one you might not guess is that the Mars Company has their headquarters in the next town over from me! CLICK HERE to read an interesting little article about the company.

Another thing you might not know is that Virginia is one of the top states for personalized plates... HELLO quilt plates! This IS my license plate.. no photo-shopping.. it's the REAL DEAL.... mushed bugs and all.
PLUS we have a Quilt Museum!! CLICK HERE to learn more about it

For the blog hop I decided to create a personalized license plate just like my own for the hop. I added a home with a heart, as I have finally found my spot here in Virginia.. plus the beautiful dogwood bloom, they were spectacular this year!

JUST incase you don't want to use my name..... I have given you the letters for Virginia or just creating a cute dogwood block.

"NVR BRD" Never bored. It's a little joke between my husband and I in reference to having 9 kids. ;) I don't know how much my hubby would appreciate driving around the mini van with a quilting referenced license plate. I already added a crazy cat lady with a dozen cats vinyl decal to the back window just for fun. He doesn't think it's as funny as I do.
and MY prize to Kristin who wrote -
"I've always wanted vanity plates but I've never actually gotten a set. For a long time I wanted my military nickname, "Spoons" on there. (A 'Spoon' is a cook in the Army.) Really excited about these American Made fabrics."
