So many of us have scraps... and we love them and want to use them.. So let's get organized about it!
I find being organized REALLY makes me more effective when I sit down to sew. I like to have piles of each block so that I can chain piece like a mad woman! ... and I have way more fun this way!
For my Shoofly block I have enough 5" charm pack squares from Bobbins and Bits to do 30 blocks. This will give me a 5 x 6 setting for my quilt. I didn't have enough white with black polka dots... so I added in other white with black fabrics to complete 30 sets of blocks.
I just might have searched online to see where I could find more white with black polka dots... but that would not be in the spirit of 'scrap busting' to buy fabric for this quilt... sooo..
lukily I do have LOTS of black polka dot fabric.. thank goodness as I'm sure I would have had to buy that!
And then I created sewing sets. Oh my these make my heart skip a beat! nice tidy sets all ready to rock and roll by the machine!
When I get a few blocks made I JUST HAVE to see how they will look.. do you do that? I can NOT wait to put them on the design wall. yippee... skippee... 3 blocks and up they go!
When I put them up there my Moda Blog Hop Pieced P was on the wall too.... It's the right colors.. so I thought.. mmmm.. what if I put a print on the left and right... and then made the "S" block... it could fit right into my quilt!
What do you think? should I do it?
