I am so happy to be working with the wonderful people at Free Quilt Patterns! They asked me to design a block of the month for 2014, and I am very excited about this one.
I have designed a 60" x 60" quilt. AND I am making it in TWO colorways! The first block is 26" x 26" FINISHED" and is called "Washington DC". At my Facebook group hundreds of you have made the block... it is so inspirational to see so many versions! CLICK HERE to join my group!
The quilt is called 'Globetrotting' and each block is inspired by a famous city.
Block 2 is Venice Italy, a city I want to visit, a romantic city for sure!
CLICK HERE for Block 2, my video about the block, and the supply list is also on the page incase you are just starting!
CLICK HERE for block one, Washington DC, and find out WHY it's block one!
and click HERE for a list of shops that carry the two fabric lines I'm working with.
There are a lot of shops with my Bobbins and bits. In addition to the shops above, I've spotted my red and grey Bobbins and Bits at several shops (CLICK HERE for a list) Please contact your favorite quilt shop, they can still order!
At the top of the FreeQuiltPatterns.info page you will see a tab called "Mystery BOM" where all the links are. Plus we have a flickr folder for sharing HERE

There is a small typo in the supply list showing where fabrics are used. If you happen to be reading where I used the fabrics, you'll see that I have the wrong red listed for BLOCK 2. The quilt block PHOTO in the pattern is the block in the quilt, so I will fix the supply list Monday. You don't need to reprint.
My good friend, and amazing quilter, Debby Brown, is doing a step by step tutorial on HOW to QUILT Globetrotting! In her photo and video tutorials at her blog, she is doing a 'Quilt as you Go' right now. At the end of the year she will show you how to assemble the quilt. AND at the end of the year she is quilting a top all at once.. Didn't I SAY she was amazing?
CLICK HERE every few days to see a new tutorial... there is no set schedule, but she will be posting every few days... seriously good stuff there already.
Leave me a comment below telling me if you are sewing along and what color your quilt will be!
Yesterday I threw out a 'Pop-Up' giveaway chance.. asking you to "Guess the next city'....
8 people guessed Italy, and 2 guessed VENICE! Laverne Farrar is the winner of my 'Pop-up' giveaway!
