Sometimes we need to rethink how we collect. Right now I'm in the process of not only working on creating a TIGHT style (read my post yesterday).. but also working on my fabric collection.
What really brought me around to this is making the quilts for my next book. My next book is going to be much different than ones before in it's look and feel. I'm SUPER excited about that!
It's made me think.. and think deep ... on the fabrics I own.
My home is small. My studio space is small. Which means I need to collect SMART.
So for me I'm going on this journey of tightening up my style AND looking at the fabrics I'm working with.
If you have taken a workshop with me you know that I advocate using a tight color selection for many quilt. Many quilts we make can't use every fabric we own.. they would look a mess.
My newest fabric line Bobbins and Bits is a true picture of where I'm going. So I'm going to be refining my fabrics I buy to work into this (not exclusive.. hey.. I'm a quilter ya know!)
During the rest of this year I'll be writing Fabric Collecting 101 posts. NOT on a schedule.. but as I am building and discovering.. I'll be sharing this.
Would you like to play along and learn about YOUR fabric style? Yes? .. oh GOOD! This will be SO MUCH FUN! So think about it....
What is YOUR color STYLE?
