I have been using a tablet for my computer since about 2000. I do not use a mouse with my right hand (although I do mouse with my left). Instead I use a pen. More natural right?
My tablets have always been made by Wacom.
I started out with the largest tablet I could.. but over time I realized I only draw in a small space.
My uber nice Amazon prime got this new tablet to me in less than 24 hours...
yes indeed! It pays off for fast delivery to live in the city!
All shiny and new!
I work at a desk top when at home. On a VERY small desk with a pull out shelf for my tablet. this is an awesome shelf as it's FLAT.. see that? So my arm isn't hitting any kind of lip.
So how do I use this?
1- When I'm typing text, the pen has a bar programmed to be the 'left and right' mouse functions.
I can highlight and click the lever to get a copy/paste option window.. etc.. etc.. it is like having a mouse IN MY HAND. Well not THAT kind of mouse.. the electronic kind
2- when on websites, in software.. any place I need to 'click' I just TAP with the end of the pen.
It is magic.. serious... magic...
3- I draw with it. The shiny surface area is where my drawing happens for my applique, my pieced quilts.. my graphics I build. I draw like I'm on paper using adobe illustrator or some other software. It is natural. It is a pen
This ROCKS.
I seriously can not imagine how anyone draws with a clunky mouse under their hand.
The little fabric pad on the left is where I put the pen. The pens are somewhat delicate. You actually can program all kinds of things IN the pen. So I don't want it rolling on the floor.
If you use EQ you should have one of these.. like yesterday...
If you have trouble with a mouse... get one..
here.. this is where we got mine...
Have you ever tried one?
