Eight blocks really starts to give a sense of what the quilt will look like! I'm excited to introduce you to the Aurifil August Designer of the month, Jill Finley and her block "Take it Easy"
Jill gave us a light of 'light space' on this block.
Let's look at all my blocks together
When I went to select the fabri for my block I made sure to have all the other blocks up on my design wall. I wanted to see how the color was going. Some blocks have a lot of the background, some have purple, .... some don't. Some blocks appear 'light' and some appear 'heavy'.
So I pulled out the fabric pile I'm using. At this point I am NOT adding in any other colors.
And yes I am TOTALLY spoiled to have Jill's beautiful block to use as a reference.. one of the perks of the job.. wink!
I really had to lay ou the background fabric to see how the light looked. I took a photo of it and looked at it on the camera to see how the colors were playing out. Made a few adjustments and here is my selection!
My quilt is made with my "Eat Your Fruits & Veggies" fabric with Moda.
