Patty on facebook asked me what she might do with a BUNCH of flying geese blocks she has. That got me curious, and I went to pinterest and looked for some examples.
I show you how to make 2 flying geese at a time in my book "Beyond the Basics" which is full of wonderful techniques that take you to the next level in your quilt making! Flying geese, putting quilts on point, curves.. and more! CLICK HERE to see more from my book
First a few Antique ones. Red from Bill's site, he has it as a 1940
White from KY at Amy Ala mode's site. Note this one as WHITE geese to get that effect. And look at the green star.. color right?
and another that I'd saved from an ebay listing. The blue background makes it look totally different!
I spotted several variations of this with geese going both ways. I love the red/white stripe fabric in this one from Folk Fibers HERE
and in another colorway that was on Anthropolgies website years ago
This quilt from "Berlin Quilter' uses rectangles with her flying geese. I think it is super effective and makes the quilt really balanced.
This is in the C&T Flickr folder
And some block variations like this one. I like the extra squares so it lets you see the geese units. CLICK HERE for a tutorial at 'and we craft'
Which variation do YOU like?
