One of my best jobs is to be the host of Aurifil's Designer Block of the Month program! From inviting the designers, to working with them to do the interviews, to making their awesome blocks, I have such fun each year! Today I get to share my good friend Wenke from Norway! I loved doing her interview

I want to share my fabric selection process
At this point I have 5 blocks and now each month I will be really looking at the fabrics used to determine fabric placement. I want colors to repeat well across the blocks.. not have so little of one fabric and too much of another
I audition on the cutting table folding pieces into the approx shape.
Switched points and square fabrics.
Switched them some more. The 4 squares are a big focus of the block
What about blue up there?
My final audition before I start sewing
looks good.. I got more solid red in this block.
And my final choice!

here you can see how I moved the fabric around so that there is balance. I did not want the big and small squares to mush into the background and wanted them to read 'red'.
Here are some places you can get my "Eat Your Fruits and Veggies" Fabric online. Some of the fabric is still available so ask your shop to order it from Moda! I am mixing the batiks and cottons for my quilt.

Or what color Would you WANT to make your quilt in?
