Today I ran away from work... skipped out... called in a mental health day... do you think my boss was on to me? (ha!..) I ran away with this lovely girl...
Miss Go Go Kim (http://gogokim.blogspot.com)! We both live 45 to 55 min from Ikea (depending on traffic) in exact opposite directions.. so Ikea is the PERFECT spot to meet!
Did I mention it was Ikea, the land of endless ideas and inspiration?
This room ROCKS my socks.. and it was just the parking garage LOBBY! SERIOUS! Although someone on Facebook said it looked like the 70s.. ha! I LIKED the 70s.. I really did.. except the clothing.. and the hair..
So here is what happened... Kim got there an hour before me to do her SERIOUS shopping.. then she 'helped' me shop for a new ironing board. After we tested and rocked and looked over the board.. I was not totally sure but got it anyway... plus an extra cover.
From there we headed to the fabric which was a tad pitiful in this Ikea. SMALL selection!
But I spotted this Orange dot.. BIG dots! I have orange accents with teal, brown, lime in my living room... I thought maybe valances (although I already just BOUGHT valance material).. or maybe cover a wing chair I have.
Kim started googling wing chair slip covers and we decided 8 yds would do it.
I'm thinking on it.. it didn't come home today. It's a home dec weight so it will be perfect! I may be kicking myself but ....
That's because I knew I was stopping here on the way home!
FLOWERS for my deck!
And.. did you see that ROLL under the orange dot bolt.. do you know what that is?
A new rug for my studio! Because sometimes you just need to replace your rug. So let's see how it looks
I've had this great purple rug for a LONG time. But it's getting pretty beat up and the biggest issue is that it's not red or black. I have red/white/black accents in my studio. I just wanted something RED
What do you think!! My new rug AND new Ironing board, with a cover that is white and RED!
The board is GREAT ... better than my crappy one I had.
Next on my list is to do some Ikea bookshelves in an "L" for the corner where the rolling cart is. That will make it more open. Plus take that small bookshelf and replace with a taller unit.
What would YOU add to your studio to spiff it up?
I want to know!
