Yesterday we traveled The lincoln Highway, US route 30, to our event in King of Prussia PA.
I travel a lot by car,... the shipping dept (Gregg) is also the event planner, travel agent, fleet manager and tour guide.
The best part of taking the side roads to events is that we are able to see the business and and homes. When you are on the highway or flying .. you do not see much of the country side.
My family is from central PA so the houses on this route remind me so much of the area my Grandparents and great grandparents were in... but more modern. With business like the “bow wow boutique” and the Janitorial 'super store'. And did you know there are a lot of Karate studios? I wish my shots of those had turned out.. instead I have a lovely shot of Sheetz.
This trip took us through York PA where there is a Harley Motorcycle plant. I will have to look to see if they still do tours. Years ago I almost interviewed to work in their computer dept, but moved to Virginia instead!
You might even spy things like the “shoe house”... I had to google the history of it as we went past.. very interesting to learn about the man behind the house. He was a major shoe store owner and had a colorful life, I think he might have like to have a bit of fun too.. wink!
Plus I love seeing all the delivery trucks, it's interesting to me as I love the graphics. From the Sheetz truck to the Bachman snack delivery.. it's all America at it's best.
This looks SO CALM...
but actually we sitting on rt 30 in a 3 mile traffic jam..
really!
Have you booked me to visit your group? I've got open times.. check my event page. And If I am visiting near you PLEASE come see me!
