I loved having a spot in the show to hand a quilt!

It was wonderful to be able to teach a 2 day workshop here. My Wild and Free with the 2nd day was the machine applique so the class could continue on with the same quilt.  They loved it!

At the end of class I had to move to a new classroom. Then it was my chance to go see the quilts in the show.. yeah!!! Although this show does not allow you to share photos unless you contact the maker of the quilt.  There was another of my "Mexican Rose" patterns in the show.. exciting! Maybe I'll have time this summer to track down the person who made it... wish it was easier to share but those are the rules

It was late when the show closed and we finally got out after visiting lots of vendor friends.. took a quick drive downtown and spoted this April Cornell store!! LOVE the peace sign

Pat Sloan It's a Vermont kind of day

After class yesterday the Vermnt Quilt show's opening ceremony was very nice.

All the ribbon winner were recoginzed. then they did a presentation of all the Youth quilters. Young people that had made and entered quilts in the show. This segment was presented by Janome sewing machines and Dave Lavalley from Bittersweet Quilt shop in Boscowen NH.

I missed getting the name of the man from Janome.  He had an amazing story. They have been sponsoring this youth cateory for awhile. His mother just passed away, and she asked him to continue this award as she loves it and she was born in Vermont.

In addition to the awards, Janome gave EACH youth quilt a SEWING machine!!!

What a GREAT event!

I didn't get into the show last night... but will after class today!

Here is is!! Block 4 of our Easy Peasy Summer Breezy Quilt Along at the learning center!

I named this one "Jump in the Pool"... it was SUCH FUN to give the blocks summer names!

I'm working to balance the lighter yellows and the yellow with the cherries. Will sprinkle that into a few more blocks.

The orange Green block featuring .....

The balance on this block is between the green and the leaf

I will want a pleasing balance so that the quilt is not too heavy one way or the other.

And I Can't help myself

I realized I can do a red and white version.. SERIOUSLY excited about this!

So yes.. that means THREE quilts... just so you can see how versitle my new Line of fabric from Moda really is! Did your shop order my "Eat your Fruits and Veggies"... they are going to print any day and that will be it!

ps.. will make my other red/white blocks after Vermont.. they are SO QUICK!
