So after President Obama's inauguration speech I had a phone conference call.. and this is what I sketched while on that call (Heidi I really CAN sketch and listen at the same time.. done it for years!!)
I think this will be a big block... it will be in HAPPY colors.. but might do the whole thing on RED backgrounds... I'm thinking I have enough different reds.. with lots of YELLOW... yep.. that is the THOUGHT.
And rick rack... and beads.. and rhinestones... mmmmm...

Yesterday I asked if some of you are interested in the 'business' of quilting and many of you said 'yes' that you are. But the business is GIGANTIC!
So let's get some narrow questions out on the table. Be VERY VERY specific. Don't ask me 'how did you get started'... or 'How do I design Fabric'.. no these questions are much too board and way to specific to my individual work style.
Ask things that are detailed and targeted to an activity. Like 'what software do you use for your graphics' (freehand by macromedia which is no longer available) or 'how did you get your first pattern order' (I designed, wrote, edited, proofed, photographed, printed and then HAWKED my first set of patterns to local and not local quilt shops).
I'll then devote a post to answering some questions. If someone wants detailed consultation I am willing to hire myself out at an hourly rate.... seriously!! This is time consuming and I'm always WAY behind and everyone's position is so unique that doing a broad question and answer may not answer your 'specific to you' questions.
ummmm.. oh.. by the way.. in the quilt biz if you often work 24/7.. no paid vacation... no time off... no paid holidays... and you do 8,000 jobs.. and you never quilt.. LOL!.. still want the job?
There you go... be specific... I'll do my best!
And I could NOT resist.... Obamicon.Me!
