Don't you LOVE the name? Makin it CUTE Tour! Brought to you by the Fat Quarter shop and my good friends Barb and Mary of 'Me and My Sister'. So what's it all about?
Barb and Mary as the sisters behind the design company Me and My Sister. They are a very fun and creative duo! They came up with this 'Makin It Cute' idea!! Create adorable flowers with their templates and attach to just about everything!
I am one of many stops on the tour hosted by Fat Quarter Shop. They challenged us to use a flower on a project. And for me, they were kind enough to send along an already made flower from Barb and Mary's fabric..sweet! I went looking for fabric that the flower looks great with..notice not good.. but GREAT!.
I found this one in my stash.. it's a very old Anna Marie Horner, maybe her first line. And it has big circles.. Do you see what I see?
The flower fits PERFECTLY inside the printed circle!
Now WHAT to make? How about a mug rug with personality!
Cut 2 the two rectangles 12" x 7" and batting a little bigger. Layer and sew all around leaving an opening to turn the mug rug right side out.
I quilted the rug with long straight stitches
Pop the flower on one side.
Then Stick a Mug on it!!! A mug of Coffee makes everything better!

Click HERE to see who else is on the tour today.. I can't wait to see what everyone made!
What do you think? You could do this simple mug rug with any great fabric and pop a flower on it!
