When the awesome team at Martingale books & Moda fabrics asks if I'd like to join them to support a charity, I say YES! Not only do the designers and the publishing team have a LOT of fun working together, we create amazing collaboration books with Moda that support a charity. For this book it's Give Kids The World.
The tour is Nov 4 to Nov 24 and there are LOADS of fun websites to visit and prizes .. lots of prizes!
My row is the camper, or really 'glamper' on the cover. Because I think 'camping' is the Hampton Inn.. but spiff it up with a darling little camper and I will be ALL IN on that one!
I'm going to give you a tour of how a collaboration book works and the fun we have...
The book has theme categories, patchwork, houses, nature, etc.. So each designer is giving a category. We then chat together to be sure we don't all design the exact same star or have 6 campers.
To be honest.. there is a wee bit of a competition to see who gets an idea out FIRST then the others can't use it..haha! On the first book Jen Kingwell was first and on this book it was Janet Clare.. what over achievers I say!
We make our project then at the trade show we have some fun!
Martingale sends us the 'theme' for our presentation ( i use the word presentation lightly). This year it was a beauty pageant.
That means our 'row' is our sash and we have to dress up to go with it.. or.. just dress up!
Here are the designers getting ready.. left to right
- Corey Yoder
- Janet Clare
- Laurie Simpson
- Lynn Hagmeier
- Tammy Vonderschmitt of Moda.
We also recruited a few of the husbands to fill in for contestants that were not at the show. They did a smashing job and you might see some photos of them on this tour(and one or two in the group photo below!)
My contestant was the crowned "winner of the Glamping Trailer Park".
She knew she had strong competition from the British Janet, the Sisters Barb & Mary, The Elegant Betsy and .. well let's be honest.. the whole group was pretty darn gorgeous so she better step up her game!
Looking around the park she spotted some table cloths and decided that that would be her gown. Sadly the park had JUST switched over from red check to the Halloween ones, but no matter, she would make it work!
She decorated her Gown with a Festive Halloween version of her Camper, put on her pigtail tiara, and hopefully labeled her gown 'Queen' to let everyone one she was 'the one'!
It was a wild and crazy competition with the crowd ROARING as each one came down the row to show off their banner and costume. In the end.. we all received a 'win' with a wee little gold crown, I'll cherish mine forever.
So let's get this party started!
The proceeds from "All In a Row Again' will be donated to Give Kids The World – their goal is to create a place where happiness inspires hope, providing children with life-threatening illnesses to share joyful memories with their families.
If you ORDER your BOOK now(at a GREAT price), and win from me, I'll send you one of my other books.. so you can't lose!

For a chance to win a copy from ME...
Leave me a comment by 5pm Nov 24 telling me
"What color would you make YOUR Glamper?"
Winner is Vjones who said "To be a glamper, you have to be just a on the little tacky side, of course! So mine would have to be a glittery lilac with various hippy-type flowers also with parts done in glitter colors. For example, a pale yellow flower might have a red glitter center. I would also have the AstroTurf carpet (a must in any campground) but mine would be an elegant teal AstroTurf with the expected flamingo in front— deep glittered aqua ones!"
