Yvonne Fuchs designs, teaches and writes as ‘Quilting Jet Girl - sewing at the speed of sound’. … she is my kind of gal! She has a great design style plus shares many great tutorials at her website. One thing we have in common is building quilt communities. Yvonne does a lot of projects and I’m excited to get to know her today!
If you have not had a chance to meet Paula Nadelstern yet, you are in for a treat today! She creates innovative and complex designs for her quilts that are inspired by the symmetry of kaleidoscopic images. Her award winning work has been exhibit at quilt shows & museums. Such as having the first one-person exhibition highlighting the work of a contemporary quilt artist (2009) at the American Folk Art Museum's in NYC. She is an author and a fabric designer with her super power being to create fabrics that are cut apart to design incredible images. We are going to hear how she designs and then get a peek at how working in series has brought her to the newest book ‘Fabricadabra’
This month my Question & Answer session goes over what do beignner really need to nail to go forward, (hint.. 1/4" seam and why), how to get motivated to work on your projects, Can you sharpen a Seam Ripper (why yes you can, and Amy Friend tells you how!), plus more along with . learning about Janet Clare's Apron and her New Fabric line. Plus why Templates are a GREAT thing! (PS... I was recovering a bit from my cold still.. had a few 'cough pauses'... bleh... )
I LOVE this FREE pattern and that fabric line.. woohoo! GREAT stuff
