I am always blown away by what inspires me... and what inspires others. I am somtimes inspired by something as simple as how my jewelry looks when I take it off. I took off this off the other day.. then I was talking to Gregg and pushing the shapes around until this layout was developed. I love everything about this.. the words (word obession HERE) and the colors of silver and copper and brass.
When in a local restaurant (anyone know WHICH ONE?) I was fascinated by the tiles in the ladies room! So RETRO.. deep oranges... it actually glowed in there! Now I wouldn't want to touch up my make up in that lighting, but the colors were rich and intense.
When visiting Victoria in NYC the one shop had the Christmas decoration on sale... We totally could not understand WHY there were still Red Glitter Mary's left.. PLUS matching trees and Santas.. don't New Yorkers know GOOD STUFF??? We vowed to buy glitter on the way home. (note the bottom LEFT of the photo... we could get a matching Blue and White Mary.. what a deal!)
What tickles my inspiration button is MASSIVE... just about anything unique, interesting, colorful, warm or glittery might make my heart race and my brain scream for more! My friend Stevii sent an email alert out to WATCH THIS VIDEO... and holey cow is it amazing!
A Black Forest Cake.. baked before your eyes... with yarn...

That video was awesome! I too look at tiles and floors and wallpaper and paint colors and even store displays for inspiration. I take pictures and my husband will ask why I took that one and the answer is usually that I like it for a future quilt.

Honestly, right now most of my inspiration comes from a burning desire to get my huge UFO and NBT stashes turned into finishes. To get encouragement and quilting ideas, I turn to blogs, pinterest, magazines, and architectural features.

I get my inspiration anywhere it hits me. I love picture calendars, tiles, fabrics, books, and on and on.

Love the tiles in the bathroom as well - great colours and lots of movement in the pattern. Very retro indeed.
