It's SATURDAY!!!
The most exciting day of the week.. after Friday Night... as Friday night is an entire day itself.. don't you think? There are really 8 days in the week.
Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri, Fri Night, Sat and Sun!
Tell me you don't feel the same way I do... I love the closure of the week that happens at the end of the working part of the day on Friday, and the START of the weekend that happens Friday Night!
But I digresss...
The reason I'm asking this is because many of you head to your favorite quilt shop on Friday night or over the weekend.. am I right? of course I'm right!
So are you heading to your Local Quilt shop this weekend? Maybe in the next few days? You need to take your camera with you so you can take some photos of your shop! I am super excited that Jan 24 is "Visit Your Local Quilt Shop" Day and it's a PARTY!
CLICK HERE to listen to my interview with Laurie Harsh and Jamie Guthals Jan 14, 2013 as they tell me all about the FabShop Hops and this super Quilt Shop Day event!
I live in Norhtern Virgina where we have millions of people.. seriously MILLIONS. But not that many shops. So we cherish each and everyone that is here for us!! My really good friend Kelly Ann owns Kelly Ann's Quilting in Warrenton VA. Don't we look cute together!
And here are some photos of her store.. you MUST visit.. and tell her I sent you!

Remember I said to take your camera to the store? Well Of COURSE there is a contest! read about it HERE...
I would love to know
"WHO is YOUR Local Quilt shop that you love so much"
Put their name and website link in the comments area below.
Then go visit them.. tell them I love them too!

I go to Kelly Ann's frequently and really like them. They are helpful and Kelly Ann is so nice. I am thrilled to see Pat Sloan go there too! :)

(Have also had the pleasure of visiting Kelly Ann's for Tour de Quilt and Quilt Quest. Such a nice selection!)

My favorite LOCAL QS is MouseCreek Quilts in Howell, NJ. It's big and most important to me VERY friendly. Yes, I have been to shops that are not friendly. I don't leave any money in those. LOL

My favourite local quilt shop is Hamel's Fabrics in Chilliwack, BC. They have an amazing shop packed with fabric of all kinds, and also a large internet shop. I love to shop "on-line", then go to the store to pick up my order (and add to it!). You can see pictures on their website at www.hamelsfabrics.com.

There are three quilt shops in Anchorage, but my favorite is The Quilt Zone.
http://alaskaquiltzone.com/frontpage
The owner has worked at the other two shops in the past and is very hands on in her shop. She listens to the customers and is wonderful at helping with selecting fabrics or colors or textures that go together. She also designs her own quilts and teaches classes. Her employees are wonderful women who are very helpful and caring.
I recommend it to everyone who may travel to Anchorage.

My Favorite Tucson Quilt Shop is The Quilter's Market on East Speedway. Lynda Luiten is the owner and she and her staff are the most exciting ladies to shop with and work with.
I spent yesterday there doing the "Great Scrap In" stitching 3" finished HSTs for a batik pinwheel quilt.

I love Cosmic Cow in Lincoln Ne. First it is very close (walking distance) but the owners are great and very helpful. Love the look of the store and love what they carry. I can always find something.

My favorite shop, Shiisa Quilts, closed last year here in Bloomington, . We all miss Janet Mease, the owner who moved to California. So now the closest one that I love is The Stitching Post in Washington, Indiana. Stitchingpostquilts.com

sounds like fun but as I have no local quilt shop I will be here at home - the closest quilt shop in any direction is about 85 miles from me - to me that is not local! Arkansas does not have many quilt shops other than in the NW corner of the state -- of which I am not!

My favorite quilt shop is Quilts and Other Notions in Creston, Iowa chiefly because of the owner, Joyce Franklin. Joyce is warm, welcoming and creative, and she loves fabric. I can, and have, spent entire days there.
