I have the best time catching up with the Sweetwater design team each market. They are mom Karla Eisenach in the center and daughters, Lisa Burnett in the front left and Susan
Kendrick front right.
One dinner we spent with them they got to meet the Shipping Department (my husband Gregg) and they spent quite a bit of time telling Gregg about their farming, the equipment... and oh all kinds of things like that! We sent him for drinks a few times and tried to change the subject when he returned... there were promises of asking farm staff (their husbands) how certain equipment REALLY worked... insert eye roll by ALL of us!
One of the reasons I love these girls is their designs, I think I hoard their fabric lines.
And I'm a personal "quest" to collect their prints. This is a new one.. isn't it awesome? I also belong to their club.. which I'm also COLLECTING... don't judge
Visit their ETSY store and buy some prints.. they even have some cool custom ones (but don't ask for those before Christmas... wink!)
Let's get to know them a bit better!
Favorite Drink: We all 3 agree – Coke from McDonald’s is the
best
Favorite Holdiay Food to Make: Buttered Noodles – it is a tradition
in our German family and it is always a must. They are made with homemade
noodles, a cup of butter, and toasted bread crumbs!
Favorite Holiday Tune: O Holy Night – Love that song and it is always
sung during our Christmas Eve service at church.
I asked them to share a favorite Christmas gift
Susan - This is my favorite Christmas Gift that I got last year from my mom. She found an old chair recovered it in our
canvas fabric and then also made me some cute pillows to coordinate.
It
was love at first sight!

Pat Onderdonk answered "Do you usually have snow over the holiday" with "
Well,
since moving to North Carolina almost exactly a year ago, I've only
seen a dusting ... last winter. BUT ... I was born and raised in New
York State(near Albany) and "way back when" we had storms
that piled walls of snow up past the windows of the house! I miss the
snow for Christmas ... but it can melt the day after and I'd be
happy."

Tiffanee Noack answered "What is your Favorite Tool" with "
Besides the normal necessary
tool like a rotary cutter and mat, I would have to say my favorite
tool or gadget would have to be those new wonder clips...I HATE (with
a passion) to do binding but those little clips make it so much
easier and safer than pins...so I bought like 5 packages of them!!
Thanks Dow the opportunity to win....I have several JayBird patterns
and I LOVE them!!"
Is it too late to post for a chance to win? I love the airplane motif quilt I made for my husband. He had a 22 year Air Force career working on airplanes. The quilt only gets used by him when he's a bit under the weather.

Currently, mine is a blue and gold log cabin. It's sofa quilt size, but I've been pulling it over my feet and legs when I sleep and it is so warm! My cat loves it too.

The first quilt I made completely by hand is my favorite, I learned a whole lot of what to do and what not to do.

My favorite quilt is the T-shirt quilt that I made for my son when he graduated from high school 4 1/2 years ago. It includes t-shirts from pre-kindergarten through his senior year of high school.

I completed two doll quilts for my twin 3 year old great nieces. They seemed to really like them along with their new dolls and the vintage doll playpen I have been saving for them. These were just 9 patch quilts in a simple setting, but it was the thrill on their faces when they saw their Christmas present that is what made it so special.

My favorite quilt was a king size log cabin with patriotic fabric and the design was a flag. It was. A class, more years back then I can remember, that I took and both my kids want it, so I am going to make another as soon as I can find the pattern, LOL.

My current favorite quilt is my "monkey quilt." It's made up of snowball and churn dash blocks with 5 big monkeys appliqued on top! I just love the monkeys. Some have vests, some have trousers & suspenders, and buttons for the eyes. It's just TOO cute! I'm finally going to quilt it here in the next couple weeks!

I made a king size Lone Star quilt out of batiks. In the large empty sections of the quilt were smaller stars that looked like spinning pinwheels. It was dark blue, green, brown and gold. It was sure hard to send that off to the recipient! But I was tickled when he sent a thank you that said they loved it! Well worth the effort.

Whatever I'm working on at the moment... but my favorite of all is the Double Wedding Ring quilt that my DH's husband made for us when we got married. All hand pieced & quilted, it's a treasure for sure.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

My favorite one right now is one that I made using an older line of Urban Chics fabric that I had a bundle of in my stash. I used a pattern called Sparkling Stars and I love the end result. Just have to layer quilt and bind. I am thinking of entering it in our 2013 county fair.

I just finished a teal and brown queen quilt for my daughter for the holiday using a fat quarter pattern which I call Turf n Surf with the Shadow Song. She has just redone her bed-room in these earth and water tones. She was so blown away by the total surprise!

I made matching string quilts for one of my daughters and her best friend for graduation about 5 yrs ago. I used telephone book paper for the foundation and made rectangle blocks so the design comes out in diamonds. My daughter's had a blue strip in the middle, her friend's a red..they are beautiful.

My favourite quilt was my stash buster log cabin - I made 42 blocks in a monochromatic theme for each block but it became a rainbowy quilt. I sold it to the first person who saw it at work and I wasn't even planning to sell it!!! amycav at hotmail dot com

My favourite quilt is a winter themed quilt that I designed myself. I am holding on to the scraps, I can't seem to spend them all. I am hoping to make Christmas stocking for the family of them.
Thanks!

My favorite quilt actually turned into 5! I started with a giant star in the middle and added the University of Iowa Hawkeye symbol in the four corners. That turned out so nice I made two more Hawkeye ones, a Chicago Cubs one and a Michigan one. All are queen sized and I started the first of October and finished Christmas Eve. Now I am taking the leftovers and making a baby sized Iowa one and a Michigan one for their sons.

I have a scrappy star quilt that goes to football games to watch my son, then back to the sofa to keep my toes warm while I'm watching tv with my family. Its a quilt that everybody covers up with while watching tv. It was a scrappy challenge so I actually finished it but I would like to do some quilting on it.
