Let's go Let's go.. let's REALLY go!!!
I was a cheerleader in High school... SURPRISED???????? Bet you aren't.. LOL! What does THAT have to do with quilting? On Sunday I needed to just PUSH FABRIC UNDER THE NEEDLE. Like... for HOURS.. I bet you know the feeling... Not much sewing has been done lately and I wanted something simple. So I challenged everyone I could reach on Sunday (and that's NOT EASY) to do a Jelly Roll Race quilt with me.
My buddies at Facebook, Twitter and QuiltMashup all joined in (see my Facebook page for quilts the others made.. fabulous!)
I made this one with my "Eat Your Fruits and Veggies" batik jelly roll... and I ADORE IT!
Now I want a border .. and you need to help me PICK!
I think that MAYBE someone should receive a package of my fabric strips... what do you think?
Oh and speaking of GIVEAWAYS you should get in on THIS ONE, THIS ONE and THIS ONE as I've not picked the winner on that last one yet. Yes... yes... I am tardy... but hey.. I'm only human!
let's get on with the border picking...
here are the border options I auditioned.
Six different options from light to dark.. are you ready?
These will all have an inner border.. here is the lightest
I may use this for the backing no matter what!
The green has limes (or lemons if it's on yellow)
This border is actually kind of a purple blue. Looks pretty nice in person
This is the one that is more blue with green vines. Picks ups the colors nicely!
Black with CARROTS!!! I think this is the most playful option
And the black with Strawberries
Which option would you pick? Why?
Let me know by Saturday night.. and I'll pick a winner Sunday when I'm back from Teaching for Bella Fabrics... (are you coming to my class Saturday?)
COMMENTS CLOSED..thank you everyone!

I pick #6 because I think the dark makes all the middle pop right off the charts!

I like option 2, however I think option 5 would be a better choice.

I like number two. It just seems to like right to me.

I think I'ld go with option 5 it will make the colours really pop.

I would definitely go with the green. :)

Option #5 is the one I like. Makes everything look rich in color without reading as a solid. Just my opinion. I think I will get out a jelly roll this weekend and go to town a sewing!

I'd go with option 5. Love the colors in that one and it plays well with the colors in the quilt.

I would pick black with carrots. Black will look stunning with all those colours you have in the quilt and carrots go with your theme.

I like the black with carrots fabric. It is dark so it makes all the bright colors & light colors pop! :)

I'd use option #5 on this one...

I would use Opt. 3, it seemed to bring all the colors of the quilt together.

My vote goes to Opt#5, the carrots on black. It seems to 'pop' the other colors in the quilt more than the other choices. Oh, and thanks for the jelly roll race; that was fun!

I like the number 2 the best for the quilt border, but my favorite is the black strawberries.

I'm digging the black with carrots. Gives great movement and picks up the colors in the rest of the top.

I would go with # 3 or # 4. It picks up some of the colors and is also calming for all the different colors in the quilt.

I would use a thin border or even a "flange" of the green color (OPT 2) and then border the quilt with OPT 5 the black with carrots. Best of both worlds.

I think option 3 looks the best with it. It was hard to pick between it & 5, but I think I like 3 better.

None of these would be wrong! I think I like Option 2 the best, though.

I really like option 5 as it picks up all the other colors in the stripes! I love colorful and playful quilts!

I like option 5. I think it sets off the quilt the best.

I like option 5. Never been a fan of the jelly race quilts but your fabric is so beautiful - I love this quilt!
