Jackie's Blogger's Block of the Month is almost done! The lucky center 13th block coming from the fabulous Sarah Fielke!
I'm afraid to say it looked like a 'bugger' when I first saw it... meaning.. you got it.. HARD!
BUT I did it.. with larger HST then trimmed them down to the corrent size
.. and I'm oh so happy with mine!!
Here is Jackie's peek at all but the middle block.. fabulous! Her background grounded the piece and it's amazing how we all used it (maybe ONE didn't use it.. but who's checking??)
But slow and steady wins the piecing race... want to see mine?

Here are all my blocks set side by side like Jackie did.
BLEH!
WHAT HAPPENED??? I was using a layer cake and a few bits of yardage. My fabric Is BUSY BUSY BUSY... so when I set it side by side it mushes and blends.
But I can correct that!
MUCH better!! I love playing with BUSY fabric. I love to see what happens when I mix up busy prints.
There are blocks I would do over if I was planning things 'again'. But I'm not planning a second version and I'm not changing anything. I love the chaos and this will hang in my studio when done. I'm making quilts with lots of red to put in here so that I have mostly red and white... swoon!
Have you kept up? I can't wait to see what Setting Jackie has in store for us!
Don't forget to load your photos to the flickr folder HERE
Tell me ... would do a different setting?

I REALLY LIKE THE BUSYNESS OF THE BLOCKS. THEY GO GREAT TOGETHER. I LIKE MAKING BUSY ONES. BUT SOME PEOPLE DON'T. SO I TEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THEM SOME. NOW MY PURSES, THATS A DIFFERENT STORY.

Yeah, definitely needs something between the blocks. The dark sashing looks great. How about cornerstones between the sashing strips? It's more work but definitely worth it. A big thumbs up for the on-point idea, too.

I really love busy . . . the more the better, so this appeals to me, even when its all mushed together. And of course I love RED, as much or more than I love green, so this is one of my favorite versions of the bloggers choice thingee. :)

I'm so glad you did the busy - and that you love it. I never would have done that and I love seeing how it turned out. So nice not too have everyone doing the same old thing. I do like it on the black better it allows them to stand on their own instead of being one busy piece. And I do appreciate the black allowing my eye to rest before moving onto the next delightful block. FABULOUS!

I wouldn't do anything different! I've loved your fabric from the beginning - you made me look at the Cosmo Cricket a lot different and have a few layer cakes of hers since seeing this. I may have to go on a hunt to find this one. Love the black behind it also.
