I am sorting out fabric today and pulled some fabrics for a new quilt that is a gift. The request is that i uses the same colors in their rug ... which is mostly Navy with a bit of orange. And a few other small bits of color
I found that fabric on the bottom left which has similar colors to the rug... although the rug is mostly navy with some random modern shapes in the other colors.
I added this dusty celery type green, some old lines from Moda. I am thinking I will just use a tiny bit of it and keep the quilt mostly navy and orange .. like the rug.
All of this fabric is older from my collection. See that navy at the top left? it is old old old... and one of my favs from Moda. I bought it in ALL the colorways.. because I could.. wink!
What do you think?
What color combo did you last pull to work with?

I like your first choices of the blues and oranges, they go nicely together. The greens do not add anything to the colour scheme, in fact to me they detract from the overall look.

I love the orange with all the blues and grey greens - adds a bit of sparkle to the colors.

I'm not a big fan of orange, but that burnt orange with the swirls is lovely...and that yummy marbly blue -- great!
Right now I'm making a crib quilt with donated flannel -- two prints: one blue on a white ground; the other, blue and pink on a blue ground -- both tiny, tiny prints. I've made 12 nine-patch squares with what I was given, and bought a metre of marbly solid to match the pink, for in-between squares. Had to make the purchase; I hardly ever work with flannel!

I love the choice of Blues but I am a Blue addict. Oranges are a little hard for me to handle but it sure matches nicely! I have a good basic question. Now that everyone is making Batiks does anyone out there know of any review articles on all the different manufacturers?

I wouldn't have thought that leaf print would have been a fav Pat Sloan. Surprised me! Not gonna second guess you cause everything you do ends up great! I do love the orange & navys tho, especially those 2 top oranges.

I´m gonna follow a quilt-along, but it was hard to decide the colour :) Your combination look just fine. Isn´t it fun to choose fabrics and hard I might add? My q-a........well, I choose green fabrics. Never done a green quilt before!

love your choices...they look great together. I recently pulled primary colors to make a doll quilt for a swap. It is really striking with white as the background, makes the colors pop. Hate to give it away but I have enough fabric to make another for myself. Love all the different fabrics you share with us. You inspire me to do better and make quilts with colors I didn't think I liked until they were in a quilt.

I love it with the addition of the greens. Can't wait to see the finish! I honestly can't remember the last group of fabric that I pulled. That means it has been way too long.

Love the fabrics. I have pulled together some raspberry, oranges, yellows, and with small touches of grape and deep blue. Now I am just looking for a pattern that speaks to these fabrics.

I'd pare down some of those fabrics for the quilt, but that's just me.
The last set I pulled was for your beginner learning blocks and I never started them. I pulled turquoise and yellows. I like the fabrics together, but I think I need to get these UFOs worked on and pared down maybe.

I think it looks great! that celery was needed for that old fabric up top it pulls everything together.
I pulled ALL my fabric this week, why I revamped my space and am very happy with the results. It helps you know your stash again (this was a huge job!) I am now putting together some blocks in a swap I was in last year rec`d 50 4patch posies and found the perfect fabric and design to lay them out. Creativity is just so much fun!!
