What inspires YOU to make a quilt?

Many color combinations start with great photos or colors from nature. I'm working on quilt blocks in bright cherry red, lime and white inspired by an amaryllis that I had blooming in my house since after Christmas.

Pretty much anything and everything could possibly translate into fabric for me.

Fabric gets the juices flowing or a new technique. I havent mastered the 'planning' very well yet so I wing it and then stuck on how to put it together. Unfortuantly (like now) I have decided how I want to finish it but dont have enough fabric and having trouble finding fabric to go with it so i can pull it together.

Quilt shows and quilt books along with the sites you go to online inspire me.

Wow, this work is incredible!! Thanks for sharing with us. Lately I have been intrigued by Victorian era architectural tiles.

Inspiration??? My greatest inspiration is usually making a gift for someone who has everything. I find fondling fabric an inspiration, it is almost as if the fabric "talks" to me and tells me what it wants to be. LOL. I also find inspiration in pictures of quilts, patterns that I tweak, and old quilts in museums or antique shops.
