Before I left last Friday I had to rearrange my star blocks given to me by my Quilt group (QuiltMashup)!
Remember my Santa Panel?
Don't they look GREAT with him?
I SO plan to do this quilt... soon soon soon! I have a bit of time to play before I have to make quilts with my fabric for my new line with Moda... maybe just enough time to pull this into a top!
ps.. the husband, better known as the shipping dept, can't understand why I'd want to play with christmas fabric in March... can you?

I have a similar panel. What a wonderful way to display it! Now is on my To Do list!

I absolutely love Christmas fabric, especially if it has cute snowmen on it. I have a good stash going and many, many patterns and projects planned. This is how I try to beat the 'Winter Depression'.... you just can't have enough Christmas around you.

I think it is absolutely perfect.

If others have "Christmas in July" then it seems natural for us to have "Christmas in March"! It's like the Quilt Fairy knew we were making those blocks for the Santa Panel
Wonderful, Pat, and our inspiration too

Some projects are just meant for certain days you need to do it when they are calling out to you otherwise they don't get done. I can totally understand why you are stitching up that santa in March! HEY i'm just taking down my snowmen ornaments today, really, so there you go. Make it a happy day and stitch away! I think these two look fab together. You couldn't have planned it better if you had tried. janita

Christmas quilts are my favorite, and Father Christmas is my favorite Christmas quilt theme. I like the star/Santa combination a lot.

Good timing?The Muse thinks so!
CHRISTMAS? ALREADY?
Quilters start planning Christmas in June,
Or at the latest july.
It takes time if you're going to make things,
Much more than if you merely buy.
So they search through the heat for the fabrics of Yule:
For snowmen and Santas and trees,
All red, green and gold with maybe some blue
Seeking designs suggesting a freeze.
Or they plan a present that's not Christmas themed,
That's meant for the whole year round:
A throw for the couch, an elegant vest
With some special fabric that's found.
There seems to be time, months and months to go
Then suddenly Thanksgiving is past.
And there's much yet to do-- oh grief! oh woe!
How can time go by so fast?
The time has come for the midnight oil
To be burned long evenings through
And if an item's not finished in time
Give instead an IOU!

They look perfect together! I'm surprised the shipping dept is questioning you! I would have thought he'd realized by now that you have to plan way ahead to have items ready for holidays or special occasions

The shipping dept. should understand by now! The quilt is going to look great!

This is the perfect time to play with Christmas fabrics. Your quilt will be all done by the big day. I'm playing with Halloween fabrics today.
