Binding is the icing on the cake, sometimes it is what makes a quilt.

I love binding it adds that last bit of spunk to a quilt. I enjoy flashy binding contrasting to the quilt to make those that see the quilt look around the quilt.

Like making binding. Sometimes it matches, sometimes it contrasts, sometimes it's scrappy.

I think bindings can really finish off a quilt. Have you every put a binding on and then decided it was all wrong? I have. Ripped it off and replaced it with a plaid on the diagonal. Perfect.

I use to not put much thought into the binding, but after quilting for years now I finally understand the importance of binding. I have arrived at the conclusion that some quilts need one that adds pizzaz and others need a binding that blends into the border. I always hand stitch mine as I can watch hockey games while doing that or easily take it to the quilt group meeting and work on it there without having to drag my sewing machine along.

I rather like binding. The only thing I dislike is trying to wrangle the quilt to perfectly align the binding for joining it - I will check out your tips to see if there is an easier way. I usually machine it. For small items - snack mats, etc. - I love using single fold binding.

I enjoying doing the binding because I can still get creative if I want and create diagonal stripes, join all kinds of leftover pieces for a pieced binding, etc. And then I get to finally see my finished creation.

Binding, you are supposed to put binding on a quilt??? Hmmm, guess I better get with the program. Seriously, I like how you do bindings, I take forever to hand sew bindings down, so I love that it is OK to sew them down on a machine. 8-)

Binding- well, the thought of sitting down and sewing one on is harder than actually doing it. The hardest part is just getting motivated to do it

I actually used one of the tutorials to make a binding, my first binding, I didn't quite figure out the explanation on the blind stiching, but I got creative and found my own way, probably completely wrong but who cares you can't see the stiches.

Binding is my LEAST favorite part of quilting ... probably because I'm better at starting than finishing! I DO finish quilts, but I'm lucky to trade off bindings with a friend who HATES cutting. It works for us. Thanks for the chance to win!

Hi
I love them all but the floral is my favorite...

binding is the best. It means that you are close to done. Put something good on the tv and watch and sew away.

I like seeing the quilt finished. I work on smaller quilts, so I don't mind the hand sewing to bind it. Something to do in front of a good movie!

Binding is one of my least favorite things. I'm hoping after reading your blog and trying out your tips my thoughts on this process will change. My projects tend to get stuck at UFO state when it's time to bind.

Love is a strong word here, like it okay would apply for me. Sometimes I enjoy the finality of it and picking a neat fabric to highlight the outside edge. Sometimes I just want to get it done. The part I love is the hand sewing. It's so relaxing.
