Hey hey... we're the Monkee's... remember it?
The TV Show aired from 1966 to 1968, today Davy Jones passes away ALL too soon at 66.. so sad!!
Did you grow up watching the show? I lived in Europe those years with no American TV shows. So I heard the songs on the radio.. on Amred Forces radio.. or most likely played late at night on the "Pirate Ships" off the shore of Holland and England.
I had a little transister radio.. and a little cassette player that I recorded the songs off the radio with (NO plug in... includes little brothers hollering in the background!)
I loved Davy... actually I loved all of them... "I'm a Believer" was my favorite song they did.. how about you?

I also recorded songs from a transistor radio but my tape recorder was a small portable reel to reel, quite a challenge and sometimes quite a mess. LOL

I loved the show and my fav was Davey. They were in my town and I actually got to get his and Mickey's autographs! One of my all time fav shows! So sad to hear he died and all too "young".

I watched their show too but I was quite young...not even 10 yet, so not really a groupy teenager.

I remember going over at 6:00 on Monday nights to my friend's house because she was the only one that had a color tv. She was in love with Peter, my other friend Micky and of course me with Davy. We figured since Mike was married we wouldn't fall in love with him. Those were the days. As it happens, I have a grouping of Monkey ephemera that my husband recently bought in a lot at auction and will be listing it on eBay.

I had Davy jones posters all over my room and totally fantasized about having him be my boyfriend. Him and bobby Sherman - I guess he was the Justin Bieber of the 70's.
He's taking that last train to Clarksville and I'll meet him at the station:-)

I felt so sad when I heard. I saw him in concert after the band broke up...This was along time ago, but I still remember getting there early to get good up-front seats...
My favorite was Micky Dolenz...
