Organize
I spend a lot of time this week organizing my things.
A Clean slate and a tidy place for the new year..
do you do this?
Would you want me to teach you how to organize?
Think
I have followed Ali Edwards blog for a long time, and the last few years I've participated in her concept of a "Word of the Year".
One thing I have not done is hold that word through the whole year. I start out strong.. but lose track of it along the way.
Ali has a year long workshop at Big Picture Scrapbook that I signed up for. I want to keep my word with me all year and I think her prompts are just the thing to make that happen.
My word has not been decided...Ali has a list of potential words left in comments go HERE to read them. I'll pick mine by Jan 1... here are my words the last 3 years
2009 - Be Thankful (yes.. that IS two words)
2010 - Possibility
2011 - Travel
Are you going to pick a word?

I am choosing the word Intentions. I am trying to figure out who I want to be (or should I say pinpoint who I want to be) and setting intentions is better than resolutions. Intentions don't have the guilt trip if you stumble and are more of a way of life. The goals fill follow to enable me to reach my intentions.

I am doing Quinn McDonald 30 Day Creativity Practice and She has you pick a word for the year also. My word for 2012 for this is Celebrate. But my second word is Get'er Done. I know that is two words, but I have many things I want to accomplish both quilty and non-quilty and my goals is to Get'er Done. I am cleaning and purging thing from my home and from sewing room so I can move forward and celebrate life, a clean house, an organized sewing room, and more.

Accomplish is my word. I would like to accomplish more things such as finishing projects, doing more charity quilts, just getting my act together and not be so flighty.

I'm going to join you in One Little Word again and signed up for the class to see if I can keep focused on it. I'm choosing Organizing and Completing. I know this is 2 words but they go hand in hand for what I'm focusing on. This will be related to crafting and to teaching. Thanks for bringing this up again, Pat.

Yes--any organizing tips from you would be great---I need to clear out a bedroom and finally have a sewing room----it is not a large room---I need tips.....
I am picking two words this year--
Focus(there is much I want to learn and do) and Gratitude...in all its forms....don't we all do better when we are happy with what we have , rather than thinking about what we lack....

As I'm preoccupied right now think my word will be HEALTH. Due to a back injury, cannot do normal activities and that is a downer. Sew, UFOs, QALs, et al will be delayed - you know, the fun stuff! Happy New Year to all.

Diane & Mary....very nice words and both I would like to use, but I have chosen "believe". I believe I can be a better person; I believe I can get my body feeling better through exercise and believe I can eat better to do that. Yes, I do believe this is the word for me this year!! Thanks Pat! ♥

Thank you for the opportunity, Pat, to choose a special word for 2012 - it's gratefulness.
Different than gratitude, I want to focus on being aware of the spiritual gifts I've been given and use them to help others.

I chose the word "focused". I kinda of have Quilters ADD sometimes. Starting new projects and challenges without thinking of the timeline. Waiting until the end to get it finished before the deadline. I think if I can be more 'focused' it will help me all year to see the BIG picture and get more accomplished.
