Pat Sloan - Happy 2012!

2012 brings me a new word to focus on.

I had a tough time selecting a word. Then I decided to do what Wanda at my Quiltmashup group did...  journal my goals and see what works for my personal goals.

• Focus on being Healthy this year (food and exercise), you too? Hang out with me here
• Focus on finishing projects in progress or get rid of them, you too? Hang out with me here
• Focus on simplifying my very small home
• Focus on creating a beautiful garden again, I missed my flowers the last few years.
  
• Focus on learning a few new things, like more advanced camera work, Electric Quilt, and cooking  more healthy, you too? You can always hang out with me here or at my group or facebook! 

I decided that "Enjoy" really is what I need to do when I am making personal changes.

• Enjoy what I need to do to be healthy for life. To make health changes (food choices, excercise) fun and ENJOYABLE.. not a chore.
• I need to only work on projects that are still fun and enjoyable to do. If they are not, then let them go.
• Sometimes it is hard to have only 'so much space'. I'm so very lucky to have such a wonderful home and I want to enjoy it to the fullest. Which means keeping it simple and letting some things go that I no longer fully ENJOY (yes books I'm talking to you!)
• The last may sound odd to you, but I need to enjoy time off. Have your own business often means a lot of hours spent working. And working at home means I work pretty much all the time. I want to learn to ENJOY time off again. Take of a Sunday, work in the garden, cook a nice meal... relax and NOT WORK. 
  
• ps.. I'm doing the one little word workshop online... this will be a fabulous way to keep "ENJOY" in focus!

Pat, I hope you enjoy 2012! My Grand-daughter and I got into choosing our words. She chose "possibility" and made a pillow with her word on it. I had a harder time because there were so many choices. I finally wrote them down and chose "believe" Thank you for enriching my life each day by sharing your humor, expertise and yourself. Thank you especially for your ideas this weekend, my grand-daughters helped make a pillow and pillowcase (with french seams) together. I can't think of a better way to start a New Year!

I was just on another blog who asked what the word for 2012 will be and I also chose ENJOY! So that I can enjoy the day more by doing a second word PURGE.

I ENJOY travel, photography, family, friends and creativity.

Happy 2012, Pat! Enjoy!! It's one of my favorite words. :-) My word this year is "Christmas" which is a noun and I suppose I should choose a verb and an action verb at that. LOL! I need to decide for my post later on today...... :-)

I love your positive goals for the new year! Mine are very similar. I need to slow my pace a bit and narrow my focus too. I try to do way too many things all at once. LOL The first quarter of this year is going to be spent training my new puppy, weeding out my sewing room (and the rest of the house), and working on UFOs. My new diet is going well, and I'll be adding some weight training to my power walking. I'm thrilled to start 2012 feeling much healthier and energetic than I have in a few years!

Happy New Year to you and the Shipping Dept. It sounds like you have set some very realistic goals for 2012. And, I love your word for the year! If you can't enjoy yourself, why bothering doing it!
