I do believe many of you don't think I REALLY collect a lot of Novelty Prints...
Or that I would collect such a vast array of styles
like these... (from a groovy guitar to a Lady of Guadalupe)
Put I really do!
Such as this print.. which I bought
FIVE YARDS OF
Really
FIVE yards.. what was I thinking?
You can only do so much with women cleaning in high heels and pearls
as you know we see that everyday...
I made this quilt with it for my crooked cabins book
how much yardage do you think I used up?
Have you ever bought 5 yards of a Novelty print, which one?
***************************************************************
Now Zip over to the Robert Kaufman blog where I wrote a bit more

I bought 6 yds of a great A. Henry novelty fabric, Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It made a wonderful throw/ wall quilt that takes me back to living in San Antonio. I've had offers to buy it but I'm not selling !!

Thanks for helping start the day with a laugh, Pat. I've visited all the sites for the blog hop and would love to win a book "What a Novel Idea".
Your novelty fabrics are delightful!!

that fabric might make an interesting one block wonder or 4patch posey pattern. BUT, dissected legs and heads might not work.

I just bought 5 yards of Tinkerbell fabric. I have granddaughters that love Tinkerbell and I'm going to make them quillows for their birthdays this year.

I bought 6 yards of this great bright red fabric with funky sneakers on them. I was thinking to use it for a backing, but I've yet made a quilt top that it would coordinate with. Oh well, I still love this fabric. Thanks for the wonderful blog hop! Happy Easter!

I'm a member of the Buy the bolt club. hehehe I even have the T-shirt that says "Fabric Acqusition Team, one bolt at a time"! I have bought bolts (10 Yard) of Sports related fabric and Jeeps just in the past 6 months. My excuse, I have 13 grandsons...

That appliance fabric is cute. Makes me think of my grandma. :-) At first, I was thinking I had never bought five yards of a novelty print. Then I remembered this sports fabric with wild hockey players on it. It was on sale and I used it for donation quilts for kids. They love it. Then I remembered some cabin fabric with deer on it that I still have not used. If I went through my stash there might be more but I usually buy fat quarters of novelties for small projects. :-)

Love the Crooked Cabin quilt, but unless it is really, really large you probably used less than 2 yards of the fabric. (At least on the front..... did you also back it with that?)
I have regularly bought fabric in 3-5yard and larger pieces. But I do make a lot of them into clothing. And yes I use novelties to make both my husband and myself clothes.
When I was square dancing with my ex I would make matching outfits, which meant buying up to 10 yards of the same fabric.
And yes I still have some large pieces that will probably end up in quilts.

The 1st year I was in guild, they had bought the lady cleaning fabric to do the yearly challenge. Ended up w/some great challenges, but don't remember any really showcasing the print. More Bonnie style, cut it up & use it. I'd say you used less than a yard in the quilt shown.

I love that fabric! But I have never purchased 5 yards of a novelty fabric! 1 yard would be my maximum purchase on anything.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Pat I LOVE LOVE LOVE that fabric. My husband is the "Maytag Man" and I love fabric with appliances on it. I've not seen that fabric until now. Any possibility of me purchasing your leftovers??? SERIOUSLY.
Oh I love your crooked cabin. candy*

I found a Halloween print--a monster's cocktail party--that I HAD to have. Bought a yard--okay doesn't compete with your five--on eBay for a ridiculous amount, but now I can't cut it. Just love looking at it. Bought two different complete Wiz of Oz collections, though. Now, what to do with the BIG one.

LOL...yes, I bought an insane amount of a paper airplane novelty fabric once. I can't remember how much to begin with, but after finishing a twin-size quilt for my son, I still had five yards left over!! Fortunately someone on flickr liked my pic of the quilt and bought a couple yards...but I still have three to go. *shakes head*.
