Yes... there are sheep in Ireland.. LOTS and LOTS of sheep... more sheep than people!
One of the BEST stops we had (to me) was at a place where this fellow gave a talk on types of sheep and then did a herding demo with his border collies.
This was so interesting and just amazing to watch the dogs 'in action'. I wanted to take home baby lambs and dogs after this stop!!
During the trip some of the gals REALLY wanted up close photos of lambs... so they wrote a 'mystery' note to the driver BEGGING him to stop at some baby lambs. Our driver was so great. On Sunday, on a little 2 lane country road, he pulled the coach over, stuck his arm out to wave the traffic past us.. and sat there for 10 minutes so we could all take photos! It felt like the coach was going to roll on it side as everyone leaped over to the edge!
Another stop on the way was at touristy/info place that made REAL Irish coffee and had a sod farm we could view... yes.. that combo! This is Cheryl and I outside just after we had our coffees... yum yum! Cheryl is the Queen of Quilting at Leisure Arts and she was doing the photography for my book. Check out her blog for even MORE trip photos!
PS- It WAS hard to leave.. I really need a month there, no kidding! Just as I was getting into it, we had to leave.. boohoo!!! It sure would be wonderful to have a little cottage over there... wonder if Air Lingus would let me 'work' flights so I could fly for free back and forth??? I think I could serve food and find blankets.. what do you think?

Pat, I am so enjoying your Ireland photos/info! Taking a trip to Ireland has never been anything I thought about but after hearing about your travels, I think it would be wonderful!
